– Following dental implant placement, it is normal to experience some soreness and discomfort.
– Apply icepack to the outside of the face over the surgical area. Start by applying the ice pack for about 10 minutes each hour for the first few hours.  
– Keep physical activities and heavy lifting to a minimum for at least 48 hours.
– Take the prescribed antibiotics as directed to help prevent infection.  
– Use electric tooth brush that removes hard bristles.
– Avoid toothpaste with abrasive ingredients that remove stains, such as baking soda.
– Scrub away bacteria with crown and bridge floss around the implant.
– Avoid smoking as this may limit healing process in the mouth and increases the risk of dental implant infection.
– Avoid alcohol with post operative medications, including hot fluids.
– Limit your food intake on HARD FOODS that can damage your dental implants such as sticky candy, ice cubes, chips, raw vegetable, ect.
– Follow up with on dental visits, at least 3-4 times per year, to keep implant maintenance professionally evaluated, examined, and cleaned.
